What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is an ancient system of medicine and self-understanding that originated over 5,000 years ago and is still deeply relevant today. Translated simply, Ayurveda means “The Science of Life”. It’s not a set of rules or a one-size-fits-all wellness plan; it’s a framework for understanding you.
At its core, Ayurveda asks a different question than most health approaches. Instead of asking, “How do we fix you?” it asks, “What needs your attention and care right now?”
Through the wisdom of Ayurveda, physical symptoms aren’t problems to suppress. They’re signals. Clues pointing toward the areas of life that are misaligned — whether in your digestion, your energy, your nervous system, your relationships, or the way you move through the world.
This is why Ayurveda sits at the heart of my work (and my life).

The Methodology Behind Ayurveda
Ayurveda is guided by three simple yet profound goals: to prevent dis-ease, preserve health, and promote longevity. Rather than waiting for symptoms to become diagnoses, it teaches us to pay attention early and to notice subtle imbalances and respond with care before they take root.
To do this, Ayurveda rests on three foundational principles: like increases like, opposites often bring balance, and the more closely we mirror the natural rhythms of life, the less likely disease is to occur. In practice, this means that what you repeatedly think, consume, feel, and do either amplifies imbalance or restores harmony.
When you begin to understand these patterns, healing shifts from being reactive to being relational. It becomes a daily act of alignment.
